At the Age of 15 Roland Linz already changed from the traditional Styrian Football Club DSV Leoben to the German Junior Team of TSV 1860 Munich, two years later he came back to Styria!DSV Leoben and FK Austria Wien
After scoring 21 goals during the season 2000/2001 for DSV Leoben in the Austrian "Red Zac" 1st League (second best league in Austria) he got an offer from FC Barcelona! The transfer finally failed in the last minute and Roland actually changed in summer 2001 to FK Austria Wien and scored at least 8 Goals in the Austrian National League (best league of Austria).
Austrian National Football Team, First Master Title, Austrian Cup and Herold AdmiraOn the 27th of March 2002 Roland Linz played for the Austrian National Football Team for the first time - trained by Mr. Hans Krankl - during the friendly game against Slovakia! During season 2002/2003 he won the Master Title and the Austrian Cup for the first time – with his team FK Austria Wien, trained by Mr. Christoph Daum! But Roland only has been used sporadically in short periods, further he was rented to Herold Admira for season 2003/2004 - where he scored 15 goals!
OGC Nizza and SK Sturm Graz
In a lightning operation Roland changed to the French Team OGC Nizza for the season 2004/2005 where he signed a contract for 1 year with option (He still was committed on his contract with FK Austria Wien till the end of season 2005/2006)! The guest performance already ended at the end of the autumn season – without any goals! In spring 2005 Roland changed to SK Sturm Graz and came up with a very strong performance and 4 goals in the spring season. In season 2005/2006 Roland Linz played for FK Austria Wien again!
The WM-Qualification 2006On the 3rd of September 2005 Roland scores his first two goals in an international match during a great performance in the second half of the qualification game against Poland (he nearly scored a hattrick )! Unfortunately the match ended 2:3 for Poland and so the participation of the Austrian Football Team at the World Championship in Germany in the year 2006 was not possible!
Goal Scoring King, second Master Title and Austrian Cup with FK Austria Wien
In season 2005/2006 Roland scored 15 goals in 31 matches! For that reason he gained the title of the Austrian Goal Scoring King (together with Mr. Sanel Kuljic) in the Austrian National League! He also celebrated his second Master Title and his second triumph in the Austrian Cup!
Boavista FC
In summer 2006 he receives several offers of European Teams because of his great performances in the End of the season! Finally he changes from FK Austria Wien to Boavisa FC without any payments of transfer fees, he signed a contract for 3 years. In his first season Roland scored 10 Goals in 28 Games for Boavista FC.
Braga SC
August 2007, Roland was bought by Braga SC for the 2007/08 season, transferring inside of the portuguese league and moving away just 50 km from Porto. The fans loves Roland from the first moment. At the end of the season 2007/2008 Roland has scored 11 goals in the portuguese league. Also unforgettable his Uefa-Cup goal against Bayern Munich.
